A man in his 40s who refused a police breathalyzer test and fled was arrested after a chase.


According to Changwon Seobu Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 20th, a report was received at 11:16 p.m. on the 19th stating, "A stopped vehicle at the intersection in front of the market in Bonggok-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon City, is not moving even though the traffic light has changed."


The police who arrived at the scene approached the vehicle and woke up Mr. A, who had fallen asleep, and attempted a breathalyzer test, but Mr. A evaded the police and fled.


Mr. A fled about 30 km from the Bonggok-dong road to Dong-eup, Uichang-gu, but was caught by the police.


The breathalyzer test showed that Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was 0.079%, which is at the level for license suspension due to intoxication.


During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he had been drinking at a bar in Hapjeong-dong, Masanhwoewon-gu, and was trying to return to his residence.


The police have booked Mr. A without detention and are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
