At 'HIMSS 2023' held in Chicago, USA, Samsung Medical Center became the first in the world to achieve the highest level 7 certification in the field of Digital Imaging Adoption Model (DIAM), followed by achieving level 7 in the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) field. HIMSS is regarded as the most prestigious certification organization worldwide that evaluates the informatization level of medical institutions with the goal of improving healthcare quality and patient safety.

The DIAM certification, for which Samsung Medical Center became the first in the world to achieve the highest level this time, verifies how mature the digital transformation in the medical imaging field is. The requirements are so high that no medical institution worldwide has previously achieved the highest level 7 certification. Additionally, EMRAM evaluates how successfully electronic medical records have been introduced and operated, and Samsung Medical Center reached the highest level within one year after achieving level 6 last year.

Accordingly, Samsung Medical Center achieved the triple crown for the first time by obtaining the highest level in three of the seven fields certified by HIMSS, along with the world’s first level 7 certification in IT infrastructure last year. Earlier this year, Samsung Medical Center also recorded the highest global score by achieving 365 out of 400 points in the Digital Health Indicator (DHI) survey conducted by HIMSS.

Seungwoo Park, CEO of Samsung Medical Center, said, "It is an honor to represent Korea and prove that Korea possesses world-class IT capabilities." He added, "Building on this triple crown achievement, we will strive even harder so that the path Samsung Medical Center takes to realize the future of healthcare as an 'advanced intelligent hospital' can become a global standard."
