Samsung Electronics Unveils Tribute Video to 'Korean War Heroes' at New York Times Square

Screenings for Two Weeks Until May 3rd Marking the 70th Anniversary of the Korea-US Alliance

On the 20th (local time), Samsung Electronics unveiled a commemorative tribute video titled '70th Anniversary of the Korea-US Alliance' in New York's Times Square, expressing respect and gratitude to Korean War veterans. The video features photos of the 'Top 10 Heroes of the Korean War' along with messages of thanks to them. It is scheduled to be screened for two weeks until the 3rd of next month.

The individuals selected as the Top 10 Heroes include ▲ General MacArthur, who successfully led the Incheon Landing Operation ▲ General Van Fleet, who served alongside his son and lost him on the battlefield ▲ Colonel Kim Young-ok, son of independence activist Kim Soon-kwon, who was named one of the '16 Greatest War Heroes of the United States.'


The tribute video conveys the message, "The freedom, prosperity, and peace we enjoy today are thanks to the sacrifices of veterans who came from afar," and "We will forever remember the sacrifices and dedication of the Korean War heroes."


Through the video, Samsung expressed its gratitude to the veterans who contributed to building today's Republic of Korea and conveyed the strong friendship between Korea and the United States, which has lasted for 70 years, to the world.


Meanwhile, recognizing that the noble spirit of sacrifice of Korean War veterans created today's Korea and Samsung, the company has been steadily supporting veterans and their descendants since the early 1990s. In recognition of these efforts, Samsung became the first Korean company to receive the 'Patriot Award' from the American Legion in 2013.


In addition to the United States, Samsung has supported the construction of Korean War memorials and the operation of veterans' foundations in countries such as the United Kingdom and Ethiopia, and has provided scholarships to descendants of veterans in countries including ▲ Colombia ▲ Turkey ▲ Thailand.
