Curly Protects 2,000 Purple Box Trees

Reduction of 9.66 Million Paper Boxes

Curly announced on the 20th that it achieved a reduction of approximately 9.66 million paper boxes last year by introducing the Purple Box.

Considering that a 30-year-old tree can produce 59kg of pulp, this is equivalent to protecting 2,000 30-year-old trees. When calculated by area, the saved paper boxes amount to about 2.5 times the entire area of Yeouido, which is comparable to the size of 15 Seoul Forests.

The Purple Box is a reusable packaging material for eco-friendly delivery. At a room temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, it can maintain refrigerated products at about 10 degrees for approximately 12 hours and frozen products at about -18 degrees for approximately 11 hours. It can hold about 47L in volume but weighs only 135g.

Curly has consistently pursued research on packaging materials that contribute to the environment. In 2019, it launched the All-Paper Challenge, changing all Saetbyeol delivery packaging materials to recyclable materials. In 2020, it developed the Purple Box, and last year, it developed recycled resin ice packs, continuing its steady eco-friendly initiatives.
