Namhae-gun will share candidate development sites with Gyeongnam Development Corporation and actively cooperate in subsequent administrative actions to attract private investors. Furthermore, once the project sites are confirmed, both parties agreed to actively cooperate in reviewing the basic concept, feasibility, and promotion methods to concretize the projects.
Namhae-gun expects this agreement to serve as a catalyst not only for discovering new tourism development projects but also for attracting private investors linked to large-scale infrastructure projects prioritized in the 8th civilian administration, such as the Namhae-Yeosu Undersea Tunnel and the expansion of National Road No. 3.
Governor Jang Chung-nam said, “I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to establish a meaningful network between the tourism policies promoted by Gyeongsangnam-do and those of Namhae-gun through organic cooperation between the two organizations.” He added, “We expect a synergy effect that leads to the discovery of new and diverse tourism resources to attract ten million tourists in preparation for the Namhae-Yeosu Undersea Tunnel era, as well as the attraction of large-scale private investments.”
