At the meeting, KCCI was represented by Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice President of KCCI; Park Seung-hee, President of Samsung Electronics; Lee Hyung-hee, Chairman of SK Supex Communication; Kim Dong-wook, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company; and Park Joon-sung, Executive Director of LG.

The Seoul Japan Club was represented by Iguchi Kazuhiro, CEO of Mitsui & Co. Korea (SJC Chairman); Sato Toshinobu, CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation Korea (SJC Vice Chairman); Ohashi Daisuke, CEO of Sumitomo Corporation Korea (SJC Vice Chairman); Maekawa Naoyuki, Director of JETRO Seoul Office; and Osato Teppei, Director of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Seoul Office.

SJC, established in 1997, is the largest Japanese community in Korea, consisting of over 1,600 corporate and individual members. It engages in business policy recommendations and supports Korea-Japan exchange activities.

The businesspeople from both countries expressed expectations for the summit held after 12 years and agreed that economic cooperation at the private sector level should advance to the next stage, with companies taking the lead.

In particular, they agreed to actively participate in the Korea-Japan Economic Cooperation Study Group formed by KCCI. Kim Kyu-pan, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, proposed, "A study group is needed to identify cooperation projects between Korean and Japanese companies focusing on energy, batteries, and semiconductors. Strengthening supply chain cooperation, and focusing on digital fields such as telecommunications infrastructure and human exchange, as well as green transition areas like carbon neutrality and hydrogen technology, will yield high economic cooperation effects."

The group plans to have divisions not only for energy, batteries, and semiconductors but also for ventures and 6G, with participation from the Battery Industry Association and Semiconductor Industry Association to achieve tangible results. KCCI is currently identifying major Korean and Japanese companies with advanced technology in these industries to explore their participation possibilities.

Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice President of KCCI, said, "As Korea-Japan cooperation is reaching a new turning point, this is an opportunity to upgrade economic cooperation between the two countries to the next level. KCCI will do its best to find good cooperation cases to add momentum to this atmosphere."
