At an indoor packaging center in Suyeong-gu, Busan, a drunken man was caught by the police after causing a disturbance by holding a weapon to another customer's neck.
On the 19th, the Yeonje Police Station in Busan announced that at around 6:47 p.m. on the 5th, they urgently arrested a man in his 50s, Mr. A, at an indoor packaging center in Suyeong-dong on charges of special assault.
According to the police, the intoxicated Mr. A asked the packaging center owner for a utility knife to cut chestnuts. When the owner agreed to cut them, Mr. A swore and snatched the knife, then held it to the neck of Mr. B, a man in his 60s who was sitting with his back against a sofa opposite him.
Mr. B pushed Mr. A away and managed to free himself from the situation. When the police arrived at the scene, Mr. A confronted them by holding the weapon to his own neck.
The responding officers distracted Mr. A with three officers in front while one officer went behind to grab his arm and subdue him before arresting him.
A police official stated, "Mr. A was detained on the 7th, and a thorough investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident will be conducted."
