Gwangju Lotte Department Store, ACC Character 'Sia and Friends' Popup Store

Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch announced on the 19th that it will operate a pop-up store featuring ‘Sia and Friends,’ the characters of the National Asia Culture Center (ACC) Children's Culture Center, on the 6th floor children's store until the 14th of next month, ahead of May, the month of family.

This event was planned as part of a business agreement signed in January between Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch, the ACC Foundation, and ACC. It was promoted with the purpose of mutual cooperation for the development of local culture and arts and the establishment of Gwangju as the center city of Asian culture.

At this event, visitors can find various items featuring ‘Sia and Friends,’ the characters of the National Asia Culture Center Children's Culture Center. These include ‘Sia,’ symbolizing South Korea, and friends representing Northeast Asia, Central Asia, West Asia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia: the characters ‘Goni, Perry, Kali, Elli, and Kini,’ as well as various products such as crayons made from natural materials.

In particular, this event space was created with environmental considerations from an ESG perspective. The pop-up store's event materials used recyclable items such as plastic milk boxes to minimize the amount of fixtures discarded after the short-term, temporary pop-up store event ends.

Jeon Il-ho, head of Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch, said, “We are grateful to hold an event with the National Asia Culture Center that can promote cultural and artistic spaces in the region,” and added, “We will continue efforts to attract various events for regional coexistence, not only this event but also in the future.”
