Gwangju Area Cultural and Arts Groups Celebrate Parents' Day with 'Fusion Creative Gugak' Performance

Gangsana Art Friends, an arts organization in Gwangju that realizes the value of culture and arts by bringing together business and culture, will hold a fusion creative gugak performance to commemorate Parents' Day.

Gangsana Art Friends is an organization established by Gangsana Industry Co., Ltd., led by young entrepreneurs, to support the growth of young artists and local culture and arts.

This performance will take place on May 7 at 3 p.m. at Gangsana Art Hall in Yuchon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, ahead of Parents' Day.

'Hwayangyeonhwa,' the winner of the Best Fusion Gugak Award at the 28th Imbangul Gugak Festival, will participate. Hwayangyeonhwa is a fusion creative group that arranges or composes gugak, which can sometimes feel difficult, along with classical jazz, bringing it closer to the public as a crossover band.

As the meaning of Hwayangyeonhwa is 'the most beautiful and happiest time in life,' they plan to deliver healing through music to our parents and elders who have lived diligently.

The 'delicious fusion creative gugak' performance, which contains the joys and sorrows of life, will feature pieces such as 'Carousel of Life,' 'Libertango,' the gugak song 'Yeoldudari Da Joha,' and Hwayangyeonhwa's original composition 'Filial Daughter Simcheong.'

Various instruments and genres, including pansori (Lee Eun-bi), daegeum (Seo Ji-won), viola (Jung Sun-hee), piano (Kang Yoon-sook), contrabass (Han Soo-jung), and drums (Yoon Young-hoon), will harmonize to offer a beautiful and happy time on a spring day in May.

Additionally, a 20% discount on beverages and desserts will be offered at the cafe inside the building exclusively for audience members.
