Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk Province, is expanding support for the 'Multicultural Family Home Country Visit Support Project' to assist multicultural families who have been unable to visit their hometowns for a long time due to economic difficulties and COVID-19.
On the 19th, according to the county, as part of the campaign promises of Mayor Choi Young-il in the 8th local government, the support amount for the multicultural family home country visit project will be increased from the existing 4 million KRW per family by an additional 1 million KRW, raising the support amount to 5 million KRW.
In addition, 16 more families will be selected in addition to the previously selected 18 families, providing a total of 34 families with the opportunity to visit their beloved hometowns this year.
Mayor Choi Young-il said, "I hope this home country visit will help multicultural families overcome economic difficulties and settle down stably," and added, "We will continue to pay close attention and actively strive to ensure that many multicultural families can benefit, to make Sunchang a happy place for all residents."
Meanwhile, the home country visit support project promoted by the county covers the full actual cost of round-trip airfare, round-trip transportation to and from the airport, local transportation costs in the home country, and travel insurance fees as preparation funds.
