Changwon Special City and KIC Europe Center Support Changwon Companies' Entry into the European Market

On the 18th (local time), Changwon City in Gyeongnam signed an agreement at the 2023 Hannover Messe to designate the Berlin-based KIC Europe Center as the 16th Changwon Global Biz Center.

The Changwon Global Biz Center is a type of local export support partner operated by Changwon City to assist local companies in expanding overseas. Starting with the India office in 2020, it currently has 15 locations in 12 countries worldwide.

These centers are staffed by trade experts familiar with local industrial markets, who, based on years of experience in inter-company trade transactions and export consulting, support companies’ overseas expansion by providing local market research, buyer discovery, export consultations, and participation in trade fairs.

This agreement was established to form a partnership with the KIC Europe Center, which assists Changwon companies in exploring entry into the European market through local market research and buyer discovery.

The KIC Europe Center, under the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea, has been operating in Berlin, Germany since 2014 with expertise and experience in supporting technology, corporate consulting, business meetings, and exhibition participation for startups and industries aimed at cooperation between Korea and Europe.

The city will continue to cooperate with the KIC Europe Center to ensure that the Changwon Global Biz Center’s Germany office can provide practical assistance to local SMEs entering the European market.

Mayor Hong Nam-pyo said, “We are pleased to gain a strong ally for our companies,” adding, “We will do our best to support various export assistance projects together with the KIC Europe Center to help local companies pioneer export markets.”
