Hyundai Mobis is accelerating its efforts to capture the Chinese market by participating in the 2023 Shanghai International Motor Show. The company is conducting large-scale order meetings with global automakers, including Chinese local brands. Hyundai Mobis has set a target of securing a record-breaking $1 billion in orders from the Chinese market this year.
On the 19th, Hyundai Mobis announced that it showcased 24 mass-producible new technologies at the '2023 Shanghai International Motor Show' held at the Shanghai Convention Center. The unveiled new technologies include the futuristic integrated cockpit solution (M.Vics 4.0), in-cabin sensing, electronic steering system (Steer by Wire), and hologram AR HUD.
The motor show was a large-scale event with participation from over 1,000 automakers and parts suppliers from about 20 countries. Hyundai Mobis is leveraging the Shanghai Motor Show as a business opportunity to expand local orders in China. The company invited around 200 CEOs and key executives from more than 80 automaker clients, including BYD, BMW, and Stellantis, to conduct order meetings in a private booth.

Hyundai Mobis has established an organizational system capable of responding locally in China from product planning and development to mass production after securing orders. Based on this competitiveness, the company achieved record-high order results in the Chinese market last year. This year, it aims to surpass $1 billion in orders for the first time in China. Currently, Hyundai Mobis operates seven production bases and three research centers within China. The plan is to promote customer-focused order acquisition centered on local subsidiaries and sales offices.
On this day, Hyundai Mobis held a separate media conference inviting local Chinese media. Hyundai Mobis unveiled the chassis platform optimized for electric vehicles, 'e-CCPM (Electric Complete Chassis Platform Module)'. The strategy is to secure core parts mainly for electrification in China. The e-CCPM is an electrification integrated solution that combines braking, steering, suspension, drive, and battery systems into an aluminum frame whose size can be freely adjusted.
Axel Maschka, Vice President and Head of Sales Division at Hyundai Mobis, emphasized, "In the rapidly electrifying Chinese market, we will create new customer value through global-level product competitiveness and stable local sales and production organizations."
