Through this agreement, it is expected that the introduction and utilization of infrastructure (platforms, solutions) and technical consulting from global technology companies Siemens and Dassault Syst?mes, which possess advanced technology and experience in smart manufacturing, will enable the construction of competitive smart factories.

The city is focusing on fostering digital and smart industries as future growth engines; however, most smart factories remain at a basic level. Due to ▲lack of digital infrastructure and specialized smart manufacturing personnel ▲uncertainty of outcomes relative to investment ▲insufficient funding, the advancement of industrial DX (digital transformation) has not met expectations.

Accordingly, the city plans to collaborate with the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, Siemens, and Dassault Syst?mes to incorporate advanced cases and technologies, connect with global companies, and provide systematic support throughout the entire manufacturing process cycle to foster practical smart factories.

On the afternoon of the 18th, at the Han-Doek Materials Center supported by Changwon City, German international technology cooperation support companies eFlow and JinYoung TBX signed an MOU with local German companies to actively promote export activation and strengthen technological cooperation.

Mayor Hong Nampyo stated, “Today’s cooperation between Changwon City, Siemens, Dassault Syst?mes, and the Korea Electronics Technology Institute is expected to lay the foundation for Changwon to emerge as a hub city for digital twins in Korea,” and added, “I hope we become excellent partners through continuous exchange and collaboration for digital transformation.”
