Busan City, the City Office of Education, and ‘Bapilkkum’ are establishing a public-private cooperation network to provide customized college admission counseling for low-income students in the region.
On the 19th at 5 p.m., the city signed a business agreement for the ‘Education Ladder Restoration Project’ with the City Office of Education and Bapilkkum at the 6th-floor international conference room of the Busan City Office of Education, and launched the ‘Busan Ladder Teacher Group,’ consisting of 20 active high school teachers with expertise in the field of college admissions.
Through this agreement, it is expected that students preparing for college entrance exams under difficult circumstances will receive practical support to enter their desired universities through counseling activities provided by the Ladder Teacher Group.
To achieve the purpose of the agreement, ▲ Busan City will recommend students eligible for the project ▲ the Busan City Office of Education will support student selection and the activities of the Busan Ladder Teacher Group ▲ Bapilkkum will oversee project planning and all matters related to the activities of the Busan Ladder Teacher Group.
The Ladder Teacher Group, composed of 20 teachers from the Busan area, plans to provide customized counseling at least three times a year to five students (mentees) per teacher. After the student selection process supported by Busan City and the City Office of Education, full-scale activities such as counseling and college admission consulting will begin in June.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “I hope this agreement will greatly help low-income students to not give up and freely pursue their dreams,” and added, “Together with the Office of Education, we will do our best to create a happy educational community through public-private cooperation.”
