The "27th World Korean Business Convention," attended by over 1,000 Korean entrepreneurs active in 67 countries worldwide, will be held in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, from October 24 to 27.

On the 18th, Suwon City announced on the 19th that it signed a "Joint Promotion Agreement for the 27th World Korean Business Convention" with Gyeonggi Province and the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World-OKTA) at the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, confirming the hosting of the event at the Suwon Convention Center.

At the opening ceremony of the "24th World Representatives Conference and Export Consultation Meeting," held alongside the agreement signing, Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun praised, "Since its inception, the World Korean Business Convention has been at the forefront of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises' exports for 27 years," adding, "The ideas and experiences shared at the convention have helped make Korea the world's 6th largest trading nation."

He continued, "I believe that with the resilience of Korean entrepreneurs, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way, even during economic crises," and promised, "We will prepare a perfect convention to ease your worries and lead to better business opportunities."

Mayor Lee Jae-jun and the Suwon City delegation promoted Suwon's corporate support policies to entrepreneurs they met at the event that day.

The World Korean Business Convention is held annually in a different city each October. It is the largest event organized by World-OKTA. Members of World-OKTA from around the world gather in one place to discuss business and hold export consultations to open overseas markets.

Overseas Korean entrepreneurs engage in investment discussions with local governments, while Suwon City and Gyeonggi Province each operate promotional booths to raise awareness of their regions.

Local entrepreneurs exchange opinions with overseas Korean businesspeople to explore collaboration opportunities. Job seekers attend job fairs and overseas employment briefings to find employment.

Founded in 1981, the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World-OKTA) has 142 chapters in 67 countries to promote Korea's economic development and export growth. It is an overseas Korean economic organization comprising about 7,000 overseas Korean CEOs and 21,000 next-generation entrepreneurs.
