The Teachers' Mutual Aid Association Donates 100 Million Won in Emergency Relief Funds for Gangneung Wildfire

The Korea Teachers' Credit Union announced on the 19th that it donated 100 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to aid in the recovery from the wildfire damage that occurred in Gangneung, Gangwon Province.

The donation from the Credit Union will be used for emergency livelihood support and various damage site restorations in the Gangneung area, which has been declared a special disaster zone. This donation is especially meaningful as it includes part of the 'Labor Union Love Fund,' which is formed by collecting a certain amount monthly from the salaries of executives and employees along with the Credit Union's donation.

Previously, the Korea Teachers' Credit Union has continuously practiced positive influence through ongoing sharing activities whenever disasters occur, such as supporting wildfire and heatwave vulnerable groups in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gangwon-do last year, and sponsoring donations for the earthquake recovery in T?rkiye and Syria in February this year.

Kim Sang-gon, Chairman of the Korea Teachers' Credit Union, said, "I hope the restoration of the forests destroyed by the wildfire and the daily recovery of the disaster victims in the affected areas will be achieved as soon as possible," adding, "I hope this can offer some comfort to the residents who have suffered from unexpected damage."
