Sacheon City in Gyeongnam Province is conducting a nationwide preference survey on the ‘Sacheon Tourism Brand Design,’ which embodies the identity and symbolic image of the nation’s top marine tourism city.
The city plans to select a representative design for the Sacheon tourism brand that can expand regional tourism awareness and attract visitors’ interest over 12 days from April 20 to May 1, targeting the entire nation and public officials.
This survey was prepared to enhance the tourism image as a marine tourism resource city with attractions such as the Sacheon Sea Cable Car and Hallyeohaesang National Park, as well as an aviation-themed city with events and facilities like the Sacheon Air Show, Advanced Aerospace Science Museum, and the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency.
There are two brand design proposals, Design A and Design B. Design A is a wordmark design expressing the letters of ‘SACHEON’ through Sacheon’s sea, aerospace, and the horizon of Sacheon.
Design B is a symbol-type design that uses the initial ‘S’ of Sacheon, combining the sky and sea of Sacheon in a circular form, symbolically representing Sacheon City’s unique tourism image.
To participate, individuals can take part in the survey on the city hall website or use the sticker board available at the eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers to select either Design A or Design B.
A city official stated, “Through the ‘Sacheon City Planned Contest-type Regional Tourism Development Project’ selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020, we aim to select a brand design that represents the identity and symbolism of Tourism Sacheon.”
He added, “We will make every effort to secure a differentiated tourism brand unique to Sacheon City, increase regional tourism awareness externally, and expand latent tourism demand to promote Sacheon City tourism.”
Meanwhile, Sacheon City plans to finalize the brand design based on the survey results and utilize it in various ways such as tourism souvenirs, signboards, and vehicle exterior designs in the future.
