LS Group announced on the 18th that it has donated 300 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea (CCK) to help the residents of Gangneung City, which was declared a special disaster area due to wildfire damage.
Six affiliates, including LS Cable & System, LS Electric, LS MnM, LS Mtron, E1, and Yesco Holdings, participated in the donation. The donated funds will be used for wildfire damage recovery and support for disaster victims in Gangneung City.
A group official said, "We empathize with the pain of the citizens of Gangneung who suffered from the sudden wildfire, and the situation urgently requires attention and support from the community. LS hopes to contribute, even in a small way, to the recovery efforts so that the disaster victims can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
LS has consistently engaged in donation activities during national disasters, including donations for the Turkey earthquake recovery in February this year, the 2022 central region heavy rain flood recovery, the 2022 Donghae City wildfire damage recovery, the 2020 COVID-19 relief fund, the 2019 Gangwon wildfire damage recovery, and the 2017 Pohang earthquake damage recovery.
