The Korea Manifesto Evaluation Team evaluated the implementation plans of promises from 226 city, county, and district heads nationwide since January, assessing 35 detailed indicators across four categories: preparedness, democracy, transparency, and promise consistency, and classified the results into five grades from SA to D.

The county scored over 80 points in total and received the excellent A grade in this evaluation.

Along with the county, five local governments in Gyeongnam received the A grade, including Changwon-si, Tongyeong-si, Miryang-si, and Yangsan-si, with Uiryeong-gun being the only county-level entity to make the list.

The county’s implementation plan for promises in the 8th local election includes 4 major areas, 8 strategies, and 54 promises.

The county formed a ‘Citizen Promise Evaluation Group’ of about 20 members to monitor the establishment of the implementation plan for the 8th local election promises and adjust the direction of promise implementation, focusing on securing objectivity and transparency.

Additionally, to enhance promise management and accessibility to resident participation channels, the county devoted great effort to completing the ‘Promises and Implementation’ content on the county website.

County Governor Oh Tae-wan said, “The first roadmap for the success of the 8th local government has received a passing grade. Promises are commitments to the citizens, and fulfilling them is the duty of public officials,” adding, “We will focus on steadily laying the foundation for Uiryeong’s growth over the next 50 years without being swayed by temporary ups and downs.”
