The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Song Sang-rak, hereinafter Gwangyang Economic Authority) actively pursued investment attraction for the Gwangyang Bay Area by participating in the 『2023 Hannover Messe』 exhibition held in Hannover, Germany, from April 15 to 20 for five days.
The Gwangyang Economic Authority participated in this exhibition and conducted consultations on the investment environment and incentives in the Gwangyang Bay Area for nine companies, including Heraeus GmbH (energy sector) and Degson (EV charging connector manufacturer).

원본보기 아이콘In addition, they provided practical information helpful to foreign-invested companies and explained successful cases of attracting foreign investment utilizing the hinterland of the Gwangyang Bay Area port.
A representative of the Gwangyang Economic Authority stated, “Recently, we are establishing a secondary battery cluster by expanding investment in core strategic industries such as cathode and anode materials. We actively utilized the opportunity of global supply chain restructuring to provide consultations in various ways to achieve successful results so that overseas companies can invest in the Gwangyang Bay Area.”
The Gwangyang Economic Authority plans to continue its active investment attraction efforts by inviting companies consulted at this exhibition to visit the Gwangyang Bay Area site.
The 2023 Hannover Messe is the world's largest industrial trade fair held annually, featuring comprehensive industrial technologies, machinery, automotive parts, and energy technology-related companies. As of 2022, about 6,000 companies participated, and the number of visitors reached 210,000.
