On the 18th, the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) urged its member companies to participate in supporting the recovery of areas affected by wildfires in Gangwon Province and to help revitalize the tourism industry.
The main proposals suggested by the FKI include ▲holding various workshops, meetings, and events in the Donghae area of Gangwon Province ▲promoting Donghae coastal workations (working while vacationing) that combine work and leisure ▲encouraging employees to use their annual leave and take vacations in the Donghae coastal region ▲and providing support for the recovery of wildfire-affected areas.
The FKI requested cooperation, stating that not only has a large wildfire caused significant damage in Gangneung, but tourism demand and the local economy along the East Coast are also facing difficulties. Kim Byung-joon, Acting Chairman of the FKI, said in a related letter, "With the spirit of Nojeokseonghae (露積成海), meaning a drop of water gathers to form the sea, everyone must unite their efforts to overcome these hardships."
