Strengthening Bonds with Donors and Forming Related Populations through Unique Experience Products

On the 18th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has additionally selected a total of 28 hometown love donation return gift items through the 2nd return gift selection committee.

The newly selected items include various processed foods such as teas, Sikhye (sweet rice drink), pickled vegetables, and bamboo salt, as well as daily necessities like shampoo, body wash, diffusers, and candles.

The additional selected items are ▲jocheong (traditional Korean syrup), ▲oils, ▲vinegar, ▲dried persimmon slices, ▲gwacheong (fruit syrup), ▲powder (granules), ▲vegetable juice, ▲bamboo salt, ▲Sikhye, ▲pickled vegetables, ▲honey, ▲teas, ▲daily necessities, ▲experience services, ▲grass cutting proxy services, ▲accommodation, and ▲blueberries.

In selecting these return gifts, the county enhanced competitiveness through various experience products such as making Korean traditional sweets (hangwa), pickled vegetables, barista experiences, insect experiences, and tea ceremony experiences.

With these unique experience products, the plan is to enjoy and experience Damyang itself and strengthen ties with the region as a ‘related population’ (outsiders who have a relationship with the region).

The grass cutting proxy service, an unusual return gift, also stands out.

For donors who have ancestral graves in Damyang but find it difficult to perform grass cutting themselves, this service is expected to be a good alternative that reduces the time and economic burden for Damyang natives living in other regions.

County Governor Lee Byung-no said, “The core of the hometown love donation system is attractive and differentiated return gifts that can induce donations to Damyang-gun,” adding, “We will seek return gifts that provide both donations and enjoyment, such as developing various package products in the future.”

Meanwhile, Damyang-gun is currently publicly recruiting ideas nationwide for fund projects to be carried out with the hometown love donation funds collected. Applications are accepted until May 17.
