Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 18th that it has achieved the great success of being finally selected in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ “2023 Regional Food Plan Package Support Project” competition.
The “Food Plan Package Support Project” is a program that supports necessary agricultural projects as a package to enable local governments to effectively implement regional food plans.
Following this selection, the county plans to sign a “Food Plan Agreement” with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and sequentially promote the Hampyeong-type food virtuous cycle system construction project by securing about 4.5 billion KRW in project funds, including approximately 2.2 billion KRW in national subsidies over the next five years.
The selection details include ▲support for local food direct stores ▲support for revitalizing direct transactions of agricultural products ▲activation of regional food committees ▲support for establishing planned production systems ▲support for facilities to build cold distribution systems for agricultural products ▲food materials and semi-processed industries ▲comprehensive agricultural product processing technologies.
Previously, the county has been smoothly carrying out food-related projects for the paradigm shift of local agriculture, such as establishing a comprehensive food plan, enacting a basic ordinance on food security, and creating a food policy team.
County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “With the goal of ‘nurturing 2,000 salaried farmers,’ we will successfully promote the Hampyeong-type food project and revitalize the local economy once again.”
