Modetour announced on the 18th that it has launched a travel package to the 'Three Caucasus Countries,' where European and Asian cultures blend.
The Three Caucasus Countries refer to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, located around the Caucasus Mountains, which mark the boundary between Europe and Asia. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, more than 20,000 South Korean travelers visited these destinations annually.
Modetour designed the package to fully enjoy the charms of the Three Caucasus Countries, including sightseeing in Tashkent using Uzbekistan Airways. In Azerbaijan, travelers can visit the UNESCO-listed Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, and the summer palace in Sheki. In Georgia, the itinerary includes the Zvari Monastery in Mtskheta, the old capital city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, known as the burial place of the robe of Jesus. In Armenia, visitors can see the historic Haghpat Monastery, Sanahin Monastery, and the Geghard Monastery, a rock-cut church that showcases the golden age of medieval Armenian architecture.
As a special benefit from Modetour, the entire itinerary includes an upgrade to 7 nights in 5-star hotels and night tours of cities in all three Caucasus countries. Travelers can also experience unique local delicacies such as Saz, a traditional Azerbaijani dish, Khachapuri, known as Georgian pizza, as well as Mtsvadi and Khinkali. In Georgia, the birthplace of wine with an 8,000-year history, visitors can enjoy winery tours, and in Armenia, the only country where France permits the use of the name 'Cognac,' they can participate in cognac tastings.
