Google Cloud Korea Appoints Kang Hyeongjun as New President

Google Cloud announced on the 18th that it has appointed Kang Hyung-joon as the new President of Google Cloud Korea.

President Kang will lead Google Cloud's domestic business strategy and oversee the entire organization. Based on a broad portfolio of solutions including Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace, he plans to address the challenges faced by customers. He will collaborate with various Google business unit leadership teams in Korea to support the technologies and services Google provides to enterprises.

Before joining Google Cloud, President Kang served as the head of Snowflake Korea. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Cloudera, Hortonworks, Teradata, and other companies, accumulating 30 years of experience in the technology sector.

Karan Bajwa, Vice President and Head of Google Cloud Asia Pacific, said, “President Kang is a proven business leader with deep enterprise technology expertise that goes beyond data analytics to encompass the diverse needs of Korean customers. He will play a key role in supporting innovation to help customers achieve their business goals.”

President Kang stated, "Google Cloud leads the advanced technology fields ranging from data and artificial intelligence (AI), collaboration, and connectivity to security and sustainability. I am excited to join Google Cloud's journey."
