Yanolja, No.1 in Online Travel and Leisure Payments in Q1... 944 Billion Won

The most used online travel and leisure service by Koreans in the first quarter of this year was 'Yanolja,' with payment amounts exceeding 900 billion KRW.

According to WiseApp·Retail·Goods, an application (app) and retail analysis service, a sample survey of payments made by Koreans aged 20 and over from January to March this year using credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers revealed on the 18th that the online travel and leisure service with the highest payment amount was Yanolja. The estimated payment amount was identified as 944 billion KRW.


This figure includes the number of travel and leisure product reservations made through the Yanolja app, as well as payment amounts from Interpark Enter·Tour and DailyHotel, which were previously acquired through mergers and acquisitions. Following Yanolja, the global online travel company 'Booking Holdings (Agoda + Booking.com)' ranked second with an estimated payment amount of 843.9 billion KRW in the first quarter. Third place was 'Airbnb,' with an estimated payment amount of 567.5 billion KRW, followed by 'Yeo-gi-eo-ddae (294.9 billion KRW),' 'Trip.com (267.2 billion KRW),' and 'Expedia (Hotels.com + Expedia, 256 billion KRW)' in order.


The combined estimated payment amount of these six companies in the first quarter of this year was 3.1735 trillion KRW, showing a 76% increase compared to the same period last year (1.8002 trillion KRW). WiseApp·Retail·Goods explained, "Travel agencies were excluded from this survey, and corporate card and corporate account transfers, business-to-business (B2B) transactions such as hotel management services and information provision services, cash transactions, gift certificates, payments made at directly operated hotels, and simple payment amounts were not included."
