Dongwon Home Food announced on the 18th that it is launching a vegan specialty brand, ‘VIVID GREEN,’ and will introduce two types of vegan curry as its first products.
VIVID GREEN is a vegan specialty brand offering menus made from 100% plant-based ingredients. Dongwon Home Food cites its greatest competitive advantage as faithfully reproducing the original taste of food without using any animal-derived ingredients. Dongwon Home Food’s Samjo Seltec Division, the number one brand in the domestic B2B seasoning food market, launched the vegan specialty brand VIVID GREEN based on manufacturing know-how accumulated from selling sauces and other products to over 1,000 food companies and restaurant franchises.
The two types of VIVID GREEN vegan curry come in mild and spicy flavors and have received vegan certification from the Vegan Standard Certification Institute. The Vegan Standard Certification Institute grants vegan certification only to products that meet strict criteria, such as not using animal-derived raw materials and not conducting animal testing. Packaged in standing pouches, the curry can be prepared by heating it in the microwave or boiling water without the need for separate cooking containers. The price is 3,580 KRW for 180g each.
From the 18th to the 24th, Dongwon Home Food will pre-launch the two types of VIVID GREEN vegan curry through the crowdfunding platform ‘Wadiz.’ During the funding period, customers can purchase the products at up to a 50% discount, and after the funding ends, they will be available through various channels, including Dongwon Home Food’s official Naver Smart Store.
A Dongwon Home Food representative said, “Our vegan mayonnaise ‘VIVID KITCHEN Vegan Mayo,’ launched in 2021, received enthusiastic responses, selling over 100,000 units within a year on various online malls such as Market Kurly and Coupang. This success led us to officially launch the vegan brand this time. We will continue to strengthen the competitiveness of the vegan specialty brand ‘VIVID GREEN’ by introducing delicious vegan menus through ongoing research and development.”
