Fitzpatrick rose an impressive 8 spots to 8th place in the men's golf weekly world rankings announced on the 17th (local time). He accumulated points by defeating Jordan Spieth (USA) in a playoff at the RBC Heritage (total prize money $20 million), a PGA Tour 'special match' that concluded at Harbour Town Golf Links (par 71) in Hilton Head, South Carolina, USA, the day before. This marks his second PGA Tour win in 10 months since his major US Open victory last June, with a winner's prize of $3.6 million (approximately 4.7 billion KRW).
Jon Rahm (Spain), Scottie Scheffler (USA), and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) maintained their positions at 1st to 3rd place respectively. Patrick Cantlay is 4th, Xander Schauffele (both USA) 5th, Cameron Smith (Australia) 6th, and Max Homa (USA) 7th. Spieth, who finished as runner-up at the RBC Heritage, jumped 6 spots to 9th place.
For Korea, Im Sung-jae is 17th, Kim Joo-hyung 19th, Kim Si-woo 40th, and Lee Kyung-hoon 43rd. Ko Gun-taek, winner of the Korean Professional Golf (KPGA) Korean Tour season opener DB Insurance Promy Open, rose from 778th last week to 594th.
