Park Jong-hoon, Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education, Receives SA Grade for Third-Term Pledge Implementation Plan

Park Jong-hoon, Superintendent of Education of Gyeongnam, who received the highest rating for two consecutive years in last year's manifesto pledge evaluation, was also listed in the SA grade for his third term.

On the 17th, in the final results of the 2023 evaluation of the pledge implementation plans of nationwide mayors and superintendents of education for the 8th local election term announced by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, Superintendent Park received a total score of over 90 points and was awarded the highest grade, SA.

According to the headquarters, this evaluation was conducted through the first evaluation by the evaluation team and the final evaluation of the explanations and supplementary materials submitted by the city and provincial offices of education.

The evaluation was conducted as an absolute assessment based on 35 detailed indicators according to ▲ preparedness ▲ democracy ▲ transparency ▲ pledge consistency (Pass/Fail).

The provincial office of education stated that Superintendent Park received the highest evaluation in preparedness, democracy, and transparency.

Out of a total of 41 pledges, 28 projects, accounting for 68.29%, were promoted with the goal of 100% pledge fulfillment within the term, and 13 projects, accounting for 31.71%, were new projects.

Projects requiring a budget accounted for 87.80%, or 36 projects, and the financial plan for the pledges is expected to involve an investment of 1.3241 trillion KRW during the term, the office added.

Superintendent Park said, “I believe this evaluation reflects the support and requests of the residents for Gyeongnam’s future education, solely for Gyeongnam education and Gyeongnam students, as I begin my third term. Rather than being satisfied with the evaluation results, I will continue to reflect deeply on Gyeongnam education and do my best until the pledge implementation is fully completed.”
