The event will feature German conducting maestro Marek Janowski, who is meeting a Korean orchestra for the first time in this performance. Music critic Choi Eun-gyu and principal members of the KBS Symphony Orchestra will also participate.

Music critic Choi Eun-gyu will provide program commentary. Well known as a host on KBS Classic FM, he majored in musicology at Seoul National University Graduate School and has worked as a music columnist for various media outlets. Critic Choi will offer friendly yet professional explanations about the background of Beethoven’s and Brahms’s symphonies to be performed in this concert. Additionally, KBS Symphony Orchestra’s principal cellist Kim Woo-jin and principal oboist Lee Ji-min will join on-site to vividly convey the beautiful melodies.

Following this, Marek Janowski will appear to greet the Korean audience. Janowski has gained recognition by leading prestigious European orchestras such as the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Dresden Philharmonic for extended periods, based on his charismatic leadership. Before the performance, he will engage in a conversation with the audience, sharing his conducting philosophy and insights about the pieces to be performed. Interpretation and hosting will be handled by Lee Won-seok, principal timpanist of the KBS Symphony Orchestra, who recently gained attention on YouTube.

A representative of the KBS Symphony Orchestra said, "'Pre-Meeting Concert' is a newly attempted program designed to provide prior knowledge about the performance through live demonstrations by the orchestra members themselves," adding, "We aim to offer an opportunity to break down the barriers that can make classical concerts feel intimidating."

The event is free of charge for members of the KBS Symphony Orchestra Supporters and the audience. For more details, inquiries can be made to the KBS Symphony Orchestra.

The KBS Symphony Orchestra’s first planned performance of the year, "Marek Janowski's Beethoven & Brahms," will be held at 5 p.m. on the 22nd at the Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts Center. Under Janowski’s baton, the orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 and Brahms’s Symphony No. 2.
