Yeonggwang-gun Recruiting Participants for 'Living in Jeonnam' Program Until the 26th

Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kang Jong-man) announced on the 17th that it is recruiting new participants for the '2023 Live in Jeonnam Program' until the 26th.


'Live in Jeonnam' is a program designed for urban residents and returnees to farming and rural areas who are in the implementation and settlement stages of returning to farming and rural living. It provides opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment by residing in rural areas and transferring rural convergence technologies to increase the added value of agricultural and marine products, aiming for stable settlement in the county.

This program is notably different from the existing 'Live in the Countryside' program as it includes a professional technology transfer program. From next month until October, two cohorts will operate for three months each in Chorok-i Village, Gunnam-myeon, Yeonggwang-gun.


Additionally, professional technology transfer programs such as salted yellow corvina brine management, salting, yellow corvina weaving, and gochujang yellow corvina making will be conducted.


Eligibility includes residents from other regions aged 18 to under 55, or those who have returned to farming or rural living in Jeonnam within the last five years (having completed more than 10 hours of pre-education on returning to farming and rural living through the Agricultural Education Portal). Anyone wishing for stable settlement through expanding sales channels, entrepreneurship, or employment using agricultural and marine products can apply.


Applications can be submitted on the Live in Jeonnam website until the 26th, and final participants will be selected through document screening and interviews.


Ko Yoon-ja, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "'Live in Jeonnam' will be operated with substance to help ensure stable settlement after returning to farming and rural living."
