On May 11th at 7:30 PM, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk will hold the 65th regular performance of the Municipal Dance Company, "Ho-hyeong (虎兄)," at the Gumi Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater.
This performance marks the first show by the municipal arts troupe since the reopening of the Culture and Arts Center. The acclaimed regular performance "Ho-hyeong (虎兄)" will be presented at the easily accessible Grand Theater to reach a wide audience of citizens.
Choreographed by Kim Hyuntae, "Ho-hyeong (虎兄)" adapts two works sharing the same title: the 1926 fairy tale "Horangi Hyeongnim" by So-pa Bang Jeong-hwan and the popular webtoon "Horangi Hyeongnim" serialized on a portal site. The piece is arranged into six scenes blending dance and storytelling, creating a fairy tale play that everyone can relate to and enjoy.
Yoon Heeseon, Director of the Culture and Arts Center, stated, "We have expressed a fairy tale story that all Gumi citizens can enjoy through Korean traditional dance. We hope many citizens will experience the unique and distinctive performance of the Gumi Municipal Dance Company and have a joyful and healing time."
Admission is 3,000 KRW for all seats, and tickets can be purchased through Interpark. For further inquiries, please contact the Gumi Culture and Arts Center.
