BPA, "Female Cargo Drivers Use Gamcheon Port Restrooms Comfortably"

Busan Port Authority (BPA) is posting posters showing the locations of women's restrooms at Gamcheon Port and distributing portable guides for the increasing number of female cargo transport workers.

According to the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, the number of female cargo transport workers has been increasing by 21% annually over the past five years.

Considering this, BPA announced on the 17th that it will attach posters indicating restroom locations at major points within Gamcheon Port and produce portable guides to be distributed at the port entrance checkpoints.

A BPA official stated, "There are 10 restrooms within Gamcheon Port, but their locations have not been well known, causing inconvenience to users including female cargo transport workers," and added, "We expect that actively promoting this by distributing guides will greatly reduce such inconveniences."

Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, said, "It is true that because female cargo drivers have been a minority, less attention was paid to convenience facilities," and added, "We will make greater efforts to improve convenience facilities so that no port users are marginalized, taking this opportunity to distribute restroom guides within Gamcheon Port."
