Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 74th anniversary ceremony of the founding of the Marine Corps at the Marine Corps Origin Monument located in Jinhae-gu, Changwon City, with about 150 attendees including Marine Corps veterans and active-duty soldiers, as well as members of the Changwon City Council.
The event held on the 15th proceeded in the order of awarding commendations to meritorious Marine comrades, commemorative speeches, congratulatory speeches, and the singing of the Marine Corps anthem. The attending active Marines and comrades reaffirmed the significance of the founding of the Marine Corps and resolved to establish the Marine spirit that meets the demands of the nation and citizens.
Gyeongnam Changwon Special City held the 74th Marine Corps Foundation Ceremony at the Marine Corps Origin Tower located in Jinhae-gu, Changwon City.

We will continue to inherit the efforts and challenging spirit established by senior Marines and contribute to the development of the local community.”
Ha Jongmok, the first deputy mayor, said, “The Marine Corps has established an invincible Marine history with noble values and patriotic spirit whenever the nation faced a crisis. I would like to once again thank the Marine Corps for their love and dedication to the local community by practicing various volunteer activities such as crime prevention patrols and underwater cleanup activities.”
