New Director of the Child Rights Protection Agency Appointed: Professor Jeong Ik-jung of Ewha Womans University

The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 17th that Professor Jeong Ik-jung of Ewha Womans University’s Department of Social Welfare has been appointed as the new president of the Child Rights Protection Agency. The term is three years.

President Jeong is currently serving as a private member of the Presidential Committee on Low Fertility and Aging Society, a private member of the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Social Security Committee, a member of the Police Agency’s Women and Youth Safety Policy Advisory Group, and a director of the Korea Child Organizations Council.


The Ministry of Health and Welfare stated, "Based on President Jeong’s extensive expertise and diverse experience in the field of child welfare, he will play a significant role in enhancing child rights. We expect him to contribute to the successful implementation of the ‘Yoon Seok-yeol Government’s Child Policy Promotion Plan,’ which aims to guarantee fair development and growth opportunities for children and provide comprehensive and robust child welfare services."
