Kim Geun-sik "Jeon Gwang-hoon's 'Declaration of Breakup', Bulgamcheonggosowon"

Hyeon Geuntaek "Breakup Declaration is a New Beginning"

Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church announced on the 17th that he would make a 'breakup declaration' with the People Power Party, and Kim Geun-sik, former Vision Strategy Office chief of the People Power Party, said, "불감청고소(不敢請固所願·I dare not ask, but I earnestly wish)."

On the 17th, Kim said on CBS's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "Considering their influence and claims in relation to the direction our party should take ahead of next year's general election, the risks are very high," expressing this view.

He added, "Although Kim Ki-hyun, the leader of the People Power Party, dismissed Advisor Hong Joon-pyo last week, I believe the next step will be an official breakup with Pastor Jeon regarding the May 18 issue," and said, "In this situation, since he is apparently going to make the breakup declaration on his own, we can only say 불감청고소."

Hong Joon-pyo, Daegu Mayor and the party's standing advisor, has repeatedly criticized the party, urging it to cut ties with Pastor Jeon, but after being dismissed by the party, attention is focused on whether the party will sever ties with Pastor Jeon. Former chief Kim said, "I think it will be resolved in a good direction," and added, "We cannot align with those who belittle the May 18 incident, claim that the impeachment is still a fraud, or assert that the 2020 general election was fraudulent."

On the other hand, Hyun Geun-taek, deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute of the Democratic Party, said, "Pastor Jeon's breakup declaration is a new beginning," and added, "Just because he breaks up does not mean he will stop making political statements he has made so far."

He continued, "Until now, he has repeatedly said he is not a party member, but he thought he had a stake in the People Power Party. Since internal conflicts were not going well, he will fight from outside. That is what he means," and added, "His weapons are money and organizational power. He says he will not be involved now, but will he really stay quiet?"
