"Don't Lose Your Dream Even If It's Hard" ... Gyeongbuk Office of Education Provides 195 Million Won in Scholarships to 530 Low-Income High School Students

On the 17th, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education selected 530 students as the ‘2023 Gyeongsangbuk-do High School Special Scholarship Students’ and will provide a total of 195.3 million KRW in scholarships to help low-income students continue their studies without difficulties.

The ‘Gyeongbuk-do High School Special Scholarship Students’ are selected from economically disadvantaged high school students who have demonstrated exemplary academic activities, students with special talents in natural sciences or arts and physical education, and students who have shown exemplary conduct in school and community activities such as good deeds and volunteer work.

Special scholarship students are selected by allocating one student per 100 new students at each school. Candidates are recommended by individual schools, and the final selection is made by the Gyeongbuk Office of Education’s ‘Special Scholarship Selection Committee.’ This year, the special scholarship students include 185 freshmen, 174 sophomores, and 171 juniors, totaling 530 students.

Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Education, said, “I hope this scholarship opportunity will help students who quietly pursue their dreams despite difficult circumstances to nurture their dreams and hopes.”
