Callaway Golf Korea announced on the 17th that it will launch the Asia-exclusive model, the 'Jaws Forged Wedge.'
The Jaws Forged Wedge is a product born from the craftsmanship of the legendary wedge master Roger Cleveland, cutting-edge technology, and feedback from tour players. It is an Asia-exclusive model sold only in Korea and Japan, featuring a forged head. The head's appearance is inspired by the head of the X Forged Wedge, which was very popular among past Callaway wedges. Additionally, the head has been lightened considering the overall balance of the club to enable precise shot control, and the leading edge is slightly rounded to make it easier to lift the ball.
It is also notable that two types of grind (C and Z), preferred by advanced players, are applied differently according to loft. The C grind (46°~52°) provides stability by keeping the leading edge close to the ground even when the club is open at address. The Z grind (54°~60°) is a wide version of the C grind, with the leading edge ground to allow the head to smoothly glide through the grass without digging in at impact.
All heads feature an unplated face that develops rust over time, providing optimal spin. The grooves and finish are applied differently depending on the loft. For lofts 54°~60°, the 37V grooves combined with Groove-in-Groove technology, proven on the tour stage, are used. This creates strong spin even without a fast swing speed. For lofts 46°~52°, 20V grooves and a sandblast finish are applied to enhance control performance.
A Callaway Golf Korea representative said, "The Jaws Forged Wedge is a club specially designed for Asian golfers, offering sharp spin, precise trajectory control, and excellent hitting feel," adding, "We highly recommend it to advanced golfers who want to execute more precise shots in their short game."
