Gyeonggi Province is stepping up efforts to strengthen the textile industry capabilities in the northern Gyeonggi region.
On the 17th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will invest a total of 4.7 billion KRW this year with the goal of creating 550 jobs through the 'Employment Stability Proactive Response Package Support Project,' which consists of three projects: ▲Comprehensive Employment Stability Support ▲Strengthening Capabilities of At-Risk Industries ▲Customized Job Transition Support for At-Risk Workers.
This project is a five-year continuous initiative now in its second year, selected last year through a consortium formed by Gyeonggi Province and the cities of Pocheon, Yangju, and Dongducheon in a Ministry of Employment and Labor public contest.
Textile companies or related job seekers wishing to participate in the project can refer to the Gyeonggi Employment Stability Support Project website (www.ggwork.or.kr) to apply.
Ahn Chi-kwon, Director of the Job Economy Division of the province, stated, "This year marks the full-scale implementation phase based on the regional job service infrastructure established last year. We will focus all our efforts on providing comprehensive solutions to overcome employment crises, creating quality jobs, and fostering the growth of alternative industries including the textile sector to revitalize the local economy."
