On the 14th, the Gwangju Seo-gu Council announced that it held a commemorative event at Deulbul Hall on the 2nd floor of Seo-gu Office, inviting Kim Ikang, Seo-gu Mayor, members of the National Assembly, former chairpersons, current and former district council members, and about 200 residents to look back on and celebrate 32 years of legislative activities.
The commemorative event marking the 32nd anniversary included reports on legislative activities, awards for distinguished residents, a chairman's commemorative speech, congratulatory remarks from the mayor, and a group photo session. Beyond celebrating the past, the event served as a platform for current and former council members and residents to share experiences and knowledge to strengthen local autonomy capabilities.
Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae said, "I am pleased to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the Seo-gu Council while meeting residents face-to-face after more than three years of returning to normal life. Without losing our initial resolve, we will continue our legislative work based on communication and empathy to realize a 'resident-centered, open council, and inspiring legislative council,' ensuring practical resident autonomy and local decentralization."
