On the morning of the 14th, at the first trial session held at the Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Division 9 presided over by Judge Kim Yoon-hee, the prosecution asked the court to sentence Song to one year in prison. The prosecution explained the reason for the request, stating, "There is a need for strict punishment, but we considered the parts he confessed."

Song is accused of conspiring with military service broker Gu (47), who was indicted and detained last December, to pretend to have epilepsy at a medical institution and obtain a diagnosis certificate to receive military service exemption.

Song pleaded for leniency, saying, "I originally met Gu to postpone my military service, but I made a wrong choice. If given a chance, I will fulfill my military duty."

The sentencing for Song will be held at 2 p.m. on the 17th of next month.

Song appeared in supporting roles in numerous works, including the film Burning (2018), and dramas Hospital Playlist (2020) and Hotel Del Luna (2019).
