Tour of Gyeongnam Smart Farm Innovation Valley and Nano Convergence Center

Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that a delegation from Ghent University and Ghent University Global Campus in Belgium visited to commemorate the ‘2023 Miryang Year of Visit.’

On the 13th, a delegation of six members, including Hido Van Heirlenbroek, Director of International Exchange, Gert De Soete, Godrive Gipsen Professors, and Han Dong-yeol, Director of Planning, toured the Gyeongnam Smart Farm Innovation Valley for regional innovative agriculture, the Gyeongnam Technopark Nano Convergence Center for fostering and supporting the nano industry, and also visited Yeongnamru, a representative cultural heritage site of Miryang.


Ghent University, established in 1817 in Ghent, Belgium, is a prestigious European comprehensive university and research institution with world-class biotechnology and agriculture-related technologies.

Domestically, it has a global campus in Songdo, Incheon, and signed a mutual cooperation agreement for agricultural development with Miryang City in March.


Mayor Park Il-ho said during the meeting, “Thank you for visiting Miryang, full of pristine natural environment and abundant cultural heritage, on the occasion of the Miryang Year of Visit. I hope that through organic business exchanges with Ghent University, both institutions can achieve mutual growth.”
