Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong visited Samsung Securities to engage in communication activities with employees. This is his second visit to a financial sector affiliate since his pardon and reinstatement last August, following Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance in February.
According to business circle reports on the 14th, Chairman Lee visited the Samsung Securities headquarters the day before to encourage on-site sales staff and have a casual conversation. During the meeting, when an employee said, "I will work harder to discover growing companies after gaining positive energy," Lee responded with a smile, "I should also receive good energy from you all."

During a conversation about vacations in the endemic (periodic infectious disease outbreak) era, Chairman Lee said, "Work passionately, and when resting, relax comfortably with family and acquaintances."
He then cited the Panama Canal and the Hoover Dam in the United States as great architectural achievements.
Chairman Lee said, "Watching canals and dams that connect seas and various lakes, and the massive ships passing through, one can be mesmerized by human technology, willpower, and perseverance," adding, "We can learn a strong spirit of challenge."
Earlier, in a meeting with new employees of the Video Display (VD) division on February 21, he also mentioned the Panama Canal as a memorable business trip destination. He said, "The vast scenery was spectacular, but it was astonishing how human wisdom and labor harnessed the great power of nature."
To a couple employee raising four sons, including twins, he joked, "It must not have been easy to raise them," and added, "Wouldn't you be happier if you had a daughter as well?"

Since his reinstatement, Chairman Lee has focused on on-site management mainly at manufacturing affiliates for eight months. He has visited domestic and overseas business sites of Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDI, Samsung SDS, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Engineering, and Samsung Display.
In February alone, he visited affiliate sites five times: Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Yuseong Training Center, Samsung Display Asan Campus, Samsung Electronics Cheonan and Onyang Campuses, Samsung Electronics Suwon Plant, and Samsung SDI Suwon Plant.
Before visiting the Samsung Electro-Mechanics factory in Tianjin, China, on the 24th of last month, he met with Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung SDI expatriates and corporate heads in Tianjin to hear about work difficulties.
He is also active in volunteer and donation activities. On the 7th of last month, he visited Samsung Electronics Smart City (Gumi Plant) and met with nine employees engaged in social contribution activities. He said, "I want to participate actively in volunteering, but it is not easy because my face is well known," adding, "I plan to make many anonymous donations here and there."
The day before, eight Samsung affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, donated 3 billion KRW to support recovery from wildfires in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, Chungnam, Gyeongbuk, and Jeonnam, in line with Chairman Lee’s intentions.
