Sinan-gun Delivers Upgraded 4.5t Mobile Laundry Vehicle Compared to Previous Model

Providing Laundry Services to More Mobility-Impaired Vulnerable Groups

Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 14th that on the 12th, it held a handover ceremony for a mobile laundry vehicle to assist vulnerable groups with mobility difficulties in island areas.

Shinan-gun was selected for the "Mobile Laundry Purchase Matching Support Project" organized by the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea. Through joint fundraising by 15 subsidiaries belonging to the Shinan Offshore Wind Power Industry Association, 107 million KRW was raised, and combined with a matching fund of 126 million KRW from the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea, a total project budget of 233 million KRW was secured to proceed with the production and purchase of a new mobile laundry vehicle.

The new 4.5-ton mobile laundry vehicle is equipped with ten 24kg drum washing machines and state-of-the-art automatic water supply and self-generation systems. It can process more than three times the laundry volume compared to the existing 2.5-ton mobile laundry vehicle, enabling faster service and providing high-quality laundry services to more residents.

Governor Park Woo-ryang expressed his sincere gratitude to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea for supporting the upgraded mobile laundry vehicle for Shinan-gun, where laundry services are needed more than anywhere else. He added, “We will continue to provide administrative support so that the mobile laundry vehicle can reach even remote island areas with only one resident, ensuring they receive quality laundry services.”

Meanwhile, the mobile laundry service, which has been operating since 2008, involves the mobile laundry vehicle touring towns and villages to assist elderly and disabled individuals with limited mobility by providing free laundry services for bedding. It serves about 500 people annually, washing over 3,000 bedding items, greatly contributing to the creation of a clean and hygienic environment.
