"Leaders Should Rest Too" Company Introduces Monthly Mudujeol... Also Creates NewJeans Day

"The team leader has disappeared." HD Hyundai Site Solutions, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, and HD Hyundai Infracore, the three companies in the HD Hyundai construction machinery division, are making changes such as creating days without team leaders and switching to casual work attire to establish a horizontal and flexible corporate culture.

On the 14th, the three HD Hyundai construction machinery companies announced that they operate a "Leaderless Day" once a month, giving leaders a chance to rest while allowing team members to work in a more autonomous environment. The CEOs of the three companies explained the background of this initiative in an internal message, stating, "Leaders who bear significant burdens and responsibilities within the organization also need rest," and "Team members will have an opportunity to grow further by proactively solving problems they face without their leaders."

Every Friday afternoon is designated as a "Meeting-Off Zone." This creates an environment focused on wrapping up weekly tasks without meetings, encourages the use of flexible working hours or afternoon leave, and expands opportunities for sufficient recharging leading into the weekend. Work attire has also been changed to casual. Every Friday is set as "NewJeans Day," where all executives across the three companies work in casual clothing such as jeans and sneakers.

The reason HD Hyundai Site Solutions, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, and HD Hyundai Infracore have introduced these system improvements is based on the strategy that a flexible and creative corporate culture not only increases employee satisfaction but also brings about change and innovation among members.

Since its launch in August 2021, the HD Hyundai construction machinery division has continuously promoted a corporate culture that fosters active communication, fast decision-making, and avoids unnecessary meetings and reporting culture to create synergy aimed at achieving "Global Top 5." For example, Cho Young-cheol, CEO of HD Hyundai Site Solutions, continues to engage with employees through programs such as "UsaCho" (Inviting Our President), "Town Hall Meetings," and online/offline forums called "CEO-Connect" to listen to the voices of the MZ generation and strengthen the chemical bonding among the three companies' members.
