Three people in their 30s were caught by customs for smuggling drugs hidden in their underwear and groin area.
According to the Busan District Prosecutors' Office on the 14th, two of them entered Gimhae Airport on the 25th of last month from Thailand, carrying about 1 kg of methamphetamine and 239 ecstasy pills attached to the inside of their pants in the groin area.
Two days later, on the 27th, a man in his 30s was caught hiding about 700 g of methamphetamine in his underwear, also coming from Thailand.
The prosecution plans to indict them on charges of drug smuggling and related offenses.

The Korea Customs Service estimated that Gimhae Airport, with many routes to Southeast Asian countries, is an easy transit point for drug offenders, and that drug traffickers are flocking to Gimhae to avoid the tightened controls at Incheon Airport, which resumed international flights earlier.
The Gimhae Airport Customs of the Korea Customs Service plans to further strengthen crackdowns to eradicate drug crimes.
A customs official said, “With the resumption of international flights, we have formed a dedicated risk management team composed of experts in passenger and cargo fields to enhance our activities. We will conduct more thorough investigations and crackdowns to completely block the smuggling of drugs by overseas travelers and luggage arriving from Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Malaysia.”
