Kang Jin-won, the governor of Gangjin County, visited the 'Gangjin County Dormitory' located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 12th to encourage the students.
According to the county on the 14th, Governor Kang personally inspected the condition of the county dormitory, listened to the suggestions of the resident students and the dormitory supervisor, and had an open conversation about school life.
Governor Kang said, "It is a new and moving experience to meet and talk with the students, who are the future of Gangjin County, away from home," adding, "We will work with the staff to create a more comfortable environment than now so that students can focus on their studies, which is their primary duty."
The students expressed satisfaction, saying, "The dormitory is conveniently located near the subway station and Yongsan Station (KTX) is also close, making transportation easy, and the dormitory supervisor manages everything well."
Gangjin County remodeled the 'Seoul Office' located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, in 2013 and has been providing housing for university students from Gangjin attending universities in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.
The Gangjin County Dormitory is equipped with bunk beds, small refrigerators, wardrobes, desks, and bathrooms in four living rooms, each accommodating two students per room. The cooking area includes a dining table, gas stove, water purifier, sink, and a separate laundry room with two washing machines, helping young students away from home live in the most convenient environment possible.
Additionally, a dormitory supervisor is employed to guide the resident students and manage various facilities. CCTV is installed at common facility entrances, along with fire alarms and an unmanned security system, providing a safe living environment.
Currently, eight university students from Gangjin reside in the Gangjin County Dormitory. For inquiries related to the Gangjin County Dormitory, please contact the Education Organization Team of the General Affairs Division at the county office.
