First launched last year, the 'Food Service Startup Keyword Dream Academy' successfully operated courses including the 1st term 'Cafe & Bakery Startup,' 2nd term 'Takeout and Delivery Specialty Store Startup,' and 3rd term 'Vegan Restaurant Startup,' nurturing 89 prospective food service startup experts.
In its second year, the academy is recruiting 200 participants, an increase of 100 from last year, and the courses are 100% free. The 1st term runs from April to May, the 2nd term from June to July, the 3rd term from September to October, and the 4th term from November to December, with enrollment open year-round.
The 1st term, which started on the 12th, currently has 50 students participating. The curriculum includes trend analysis of the food service startup market, cost management and tax accounting, food sanitation law, SNS promotional marketing, followed by menu development, field experience, one-on-one store consulting with mentors, and a practical mock startup competition, conducted twice a week over two months (a total of 75 hours).
Professor Lee Jae-hoon, the academy's supervising professor (Department of Hotel, Aviation, and Tourism), said, “To support failure-free and successful startups, we will establish a foundation for trainees to smoothly transition into entrepreneurship through lectures by field experts, team-based field experiential learning, and mentoring by the mentor group.”
