Prosecutors and Customs Strengthen Investigation Cooperation... Requesting Citizen Participation
Kim Kwang-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated on the 14th regarding the recent drug beverage incident in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, "The role of the police in creating a safe Seoul is more important than ever, so the entire Seoul police force must act with extraordinary determination."
On the same day, Commissioner Kim held the first regular meeting of the 'Joint Response Task Force' in the morning and announced, "We will temporarily operate dedicated drug investigation teams in 20 police stations where such teams have not been formed," and added, "We will expand investigative personnel by organizing a cyber drug crime investigation team at the agency." He also emphasized the need to specifically activate investigative working-level consultative bodies with the prosecution and customs for efficient investigative cooperation.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency urged, "For the police's efforts to eradicate drugs to bear fruit, active interest and participation from citizens are necessary," and called for the public's active reporting and tips regarding drug-related crimes.
