The training scenario involved simulating a fire situation on densely moored vessels within the harbor and proceeded in the following order: △fire report reception and situation dissemination △initial extinguishing using fire extinguishers and fireballs △separation and towing of nearby vessels △movement to a safe zone and extinguishing fires on other vessels △and a training debrief.

Issues and improvements identified through this joint training will be actively reflected and supplemented in the future to continuously establish mutual information sharing and cooperation systems.

A Mokpo Maritime Police official stated, “We will take the lead in providing a safer and cleaner sea for visitors to Mokpo, along with the successful hosting of the ‘National Sports Festival’ held in Mokpo this year,” adding, “As fires on vessels in the jurisdiction increase annually, we will do our best in prevention and response.”
